Lindi and Tanner Flaherty

Lindi and Tanner were married Friday, February 16, 2007. The sealing was so special and the reception was gorgeous!
We are so excited and wish them a happily ever ever!

The Elevator Story

I know we have told this story a million times but I want to have it in writing...

A few weeks ago we went to a family game night at the school. Merik LOVES to play in the elevators and we were going to the second floor so he hopped in and pushed the button. We went up and got out of the elevator...well everyone but Merik. The doors closed incredibly fast and suddenly I heard this terrifying scream fading away. Merik was gone! Micah hopped in another elevator and went down and I waited hoping Merik's elevator would come back. After what seemed like eternity Merik showed up with a faculty member and his wife who had discovered him crying in the elevator on the 4th floor. He was a little traumatized. Since then he will randomly tell me, "Sorry I got stuck in the elevator Mommy. I won't get lost again." Then while he was watching An American Tail he told Grammy Jill, "Fievel lost his family? I lost my family too." and proceeded to tell the elevator story for the millionth time.

Merik also makes friends with EVERYONE and family game night was no different. Here he is with his friend Binh Dao, a classmate of Micah's, playing Candy Land.

And the girls...they had a bunch of TVs and X-boxes so the guys could play Halo and all of us moms supervised the kiddies. I will miss these girls!

Queen Mary 2

Yesterday we watched the cruse ship Queen Mary 2 arrive in the San Francisco Bay. The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the only bridges it can fit under so this was quite the event. Thousands of people came to watch and hundreds of sail boats and a fire boat welcomed the ship from the water.

Here are some interesting facts about the ship:
The Queen Mary 2 is so big it will not fit through the Panama Canal. It is sailed from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to San Francisco around Cape Horn, the tip of South America. The QM2 is 1,131.9 feet long and was the largest passenger ship in the world when it went into service in 2004. It has since been surpassed by the Freedom of the Seas. The QM2 carries 3,090 passengers and 1,254 crew. The ship cost $800 million and three years to design and build. A ticket for the top-of-the-line suite on the ship's current around-the world-in-81-days voyage costs $185,905 per person. The least-expensive cabin for the trip is $21,185.

Micah took a million pictures and I put some together to make the panoramic picture above! Here are a few others of us down at Crissy Field. (Merik was there but didn't want to pose for any pictures - sorry!)
