African Safari

I don't even remember how it started, but months ago Merik decided that Bishop Carter was his friend and that they were going to the zoo. Well the day finally came and Saturday Bishop and Sister Carter went to the zoo with us. They have both been to Africa and were our expert tour guides of all the African wildlife. It really was fun to learn a little about the animals. It was also fun to be there on a non-free day when all of the exhibits were open, it wasn't overcrowded, and I had a few extra hands to help with the kids. Jaden was even able to get out of the stroller and look at the animals...thinking back I don't know if he's ever really seen the animals during his several trips to the zoo.

True San Franciscans

After three years we are now true San Franciscans...we finally rode the trolley. We took a risk and 6 of us moms took 11 toddlers on a trolley ride and strolling around downtown. In the end the kids were all very well behaved and we had so much fun. I didn't realize how fun it was to ride the trolley. I'm glad Merik got to do it with his buddies so they could be silly and slide around. Even Jaden would yell "Weeeee!" as we would climb up the hills and then speed down.

We also stopped in the Weston St. Francis Hotel at Union square and rode the glass elevator up and down and up and down 31 floors. I must admit I got a little motion sick because it was so fast, but the view was amazing!

Our Little Maniacs!

During third year the guys have night clinic appointments every Monday and Thursday evening. To keep ourselves sane tonight a bunch of moms brought their kids up to play. As you can see we have predominantly boys. Very energetic boys at that! They were hilarious following each other up the hill dragging their various modes of transportation and then speeding down with a sweeping turn down an even steeper stretch toward our porch. It is a miricle no one was seriously injured!

Howdy Y'all

This dancing cowboy is headed to Texas! Merik is so excited to move to Texas and be a cowboy. He tells everyone that he is going to ride horses and go fishing...I guess that is what cowboys do!

After 6 1/2 years of marriage we are moving into our first real house. We found a place to rent in Forny, TX. 20 miles from downtown Dallas. It is a 3 bedroom house in a master planned community. That means we have access to a swimming pool, kids splash park, covered playground, skate park, basketball courts and baseball fields, and more. The elementary school is just down the street and we can walk to a huge lake and take Merik fishing! I am soooooo excited to have a garage, backyard, kitchen pantry, laundry room...all of those little convinces I used to take for granted.

I told Micah we are going to be the little American dream family. Two darling children, a nice house in the suburbs, a mini-van, and gobs of debt!
This is a picture of the house a year ago when it was just built. Micah's dad was going to check it out on his last business trip, but there was a huge storm and tornado warnings so he couldn't make the trek out there. What are we getting ourselves into!!!!!
