Family Fun Time

Last week we packed up and drove to Arizona on a whim. It was spring break for Micah and we had just realized that we only have two weeks between graduation and the start of endo school. Sunday morning we left at 4am and drove 12 hours to Gilbert to spend time with our families.

One of the highlights was a trip to Amazing Jake's with the Porter family. Micah's brothers Nick and Nate were there with their families as well as Candice and of course Grandpa and Grandma Porter! The kids rode the train, carousal, and tea cups. The big boys played arcade games and the little boys pretended to play the arcade games!

Visitors

It was so fun to have Lindi and Tanner come to San Francisco! Tanner is getting ready to apply to dental school and we thought it would be helpful for him to visit Pacific while Micah is still here...it was also a really good excuse for a visit!

We toured China Town since Tanner recently returned from a mission in Taiwan. Nate, Kate, and Kiera joined us for a fun journey through the shops, churches, streets and restaurants. Tanner even got to talk to a few people in Chinese. We played frisbee in Golden Gate Park, took many strolls along the beaches, played basketball at the church, and had a great time.

Here are a few fun pictures from that weekend.
My favorite is Lindi and Tanner at the beach with their new son!

Half Moon Bay

A few weeks ago we drove down the coast to Half Moon Bay and explored the tide pools. Low tide was at 4:30pm so we even got to witness a breathtaking sunset. Our good friends the Smiths came along and the boys loved searching for starfish, anemones, crabs and much more!
Merik found this "I love you" rock for Dad!
Micah and I took turns pretending we were professional photographers with our fancy camera...I think we still have some learning to do but it's hard to go wrong when the landscape is amazing and the subjects are adorable!

Random

Here are some random pictures of my funny boys. They are great kids and have so much fun together. If Jaden wakes up from this afternoon nap before Merik he will go upstairs and throw toys or bang on Merik's door until he gets up to play! They make me laugh every day!

Can you tell that Merik likes to dress himself?
Here's Jaden getting home from a bike ride with Dad.

It was a beautiful sunny day and the boys wanted to play in the front yard all morning. Jaden likes to pose for the camera and then he was off to push Merik on the $10 fire truck that should have fallen apart a long time ago. Jaden did great until Merik would put his feet down and take off. They were both laughing so hard!
Micah took the boys to the beach one evening so I could have a break. What a great guy! How many kids get to play in such a beautiful place!

A Evening at the Ballet

Friday evening Micah and I went to the San Francisco Ballet performance of Sleeping Beauty! Sheri wanted to go as a girls night but a few of us convinced our husbands to go with us. All eight of us piled into the Probst suburban and headed downtown. The show was at the War Memorial Opera House across from City Hall (yes where they had the infamous gay marriages). The building was beautiful...all marble and gold with red velvet seats. We sat three rows from the top of the theater...but we were center stage. We ran in right before curtain call and Jamie and Sheri didn't make it to their seats so they had to stand until intermission. Jamie brought binoculars and Scott and Micah were amazed at how tight the men's tights were! I don't think it was their favorite place to be but it was nice of them to come and play along while we pretended to be cultured!

Later Micah asked if I would ever go to another ballet and I said yes but not too often. He said that once was enough for him!

Pajama Buddies

Grammy Jill took Merik with her on a quick trip Wal-Mart...little did she know "quick" is not part of Merik's vocabulary when it comes to shopping. He got it in his head that he wanted Spider Man pajamas (among other things). So to amuse him Grammy and Aunt Maleah took him to the clothing section where there happened to be a whole rack of Spider Man pajamas. Not only did Merik get a set Jaden got one too! Let's just say Merik loves them...once he put them on they didn't come off for over 24 hours...yes even on the plane ride home...and he is waring them now as he takes his afternoon nap.
Do you think they like each other!

Fun in AZ

They boys had a great time visiting family in Arizona for Lindi and Tanner's wedding. Here are a few highlights.
