The Many Faces of Merik

Whether it's swimming or playing in the sprinklers this kid loves water...and we sure love this cute kid!

The Boys are Back In Town

Grandpa brought the boys home last Friday and got to spend a day with Sadie. Merik and Jaden had a blast visiting all their grandparents in Arizona. I don't think they missed us at all. Except for Sadie that is. First thing they dumped out all her toys and tried to play with her even though she was sound asleep. I don't think any little girl is going to get more kisses than Sadie. We already can't keep the boys away!

Here's Sadie's first trip to the pool with her proud grandpa. On his two trips out here the only places my dad has been is to our house, the pool, and the airport...the only really important places in Dallas!

It's been exciting to have our not so little family of 5 all together!

Miss Sadie

We made it through our first week with Sadie. She is such an angel. She sleeps all the time and loves to be held. I don't think she knows how to cry. She just lets out these little yells if she's hungry or messy. (No I'm not that naive. I'm sure she will learn soon enough.)
Merik and Jaden went to AZ with my mom on Wednesday. It is so quite around here and the house stays so clean. As much as I miss my little tornadoes it has been wonderful to rest and snuggle with Sadie. Micah and I just take turns rocking her and staring at her beautiful little face.

Isn't she adorable! This was Micah's favorite.

Maybe she and Corbin Dailey have a future together ;)

Our New Baby Girl (Daddy's Perspective)

You will all have to endure my meager attempt at blogging, but if everyone else is like me, you will probably just look at the pictures.
We finally talked Meisha into letting us get one last picture of her tummy the night before she is to deliver. I am sure there are other pretty pregnant women, but none of them compare to my wife (and that's not even the best part about her!!).
We had to get up at 5:30am on Friday so we could get to Baylor Hospital by 7:30. Meisha had to go the better part of the day without eating, so breakfast was comparable to that meal you eat Saturday night before fast Sunday. Fortunatley Jill (Meisha's mom) was here to look after the boys and I don't think they missed us one bit. Being induced is the only way to go.

Here are the proud parents right after the baby was born. She was born at 5:37pm, 7lb 7oz, 19.5 inches, and all hair & goo. Just no name! Meisha did wonderfully, except she got mad at me for telling her to push when she was already pusing!! Her epidural worked wonderfully so she hardly felt a thing and the baby came very fast, but I was just giving moral support.
Just after the baby was born Jill brought the kids down to the hospital to see their new "baby sista." They were both so excited and insisted on having a turn holding her. We just hope she doesn't get loved to death.
Meisha & the baby were doing really well, so they let us come home after the baby's 24 hour check up. As soon as she got home it was time for everyone to get more time with the baby. She is so calm, we'll see how long that lasts.
Grandma Jill & BabyJaden insisted his baby sister play with is power ranger & speed racer. Every time she would drop it he would quickly pick it back up and stick it in her hand.Merik was singing twinkle twinkle little star to his little sister while he rocked her in the rocking chair. He also took a minute to show her the latest toy catalog he has been toting around.Jaden & I ran to the store to get Meisha her Mother's Day present, a gliding rocker chair to put in our room. At least I got her a present before Mother's Day. Jaden also helped me find a cute little dog, with pink on it of course, for his little sister to sleep with. He was a great helper puting it together and then I had to give it a test drive with the baby. Who has more hair, Daddy or baby?
Now, for fear that I have not shown enough close up pictures of the baby here they are. I have purposely held off on giving you her name since it took us so long to find a name. We decided to name our little girl Sadie Lee Porter. Sadie has no family significance, but Lee is in memory of Meisha's late gradmother who passed away just a few days before we learned that we were expecting. We always said she was getting our little baby ready for us. Grandma OraLee was a wonderful woman who was a great example to us all and always had more than enough love to go around!!
Can you find two prettier girls? Life doesn't get much better.
