Sadie, Sadie, Pretty Lady

I think they like eachother

I am so lucky that my kids get along and have lots of fun together....
...most of the time!

She just couldn't decide

Our princess Sadie has a little extra character when it comes to ears. As Grandma Porter put it when she was in line to pick out her ears she just couldn't decide if she wanted ears like mom or dad so she picked one of each! Her left ear lays very flat and looks like Mom and Merik's. Her right ear pokes out a little and looks like Dad and Jaden's ears. We still love her...but the poor girl will never get to wear her hair in a pony tail!

Our very own baby doll

Everyone tells me Sadie looks like a baby doll. I must say I agree and I think she is so pretty.

On top of that she is the perfect baby. I feed Sadie and put her in bed around 8:30. She wakes up between sometime between 5-6am, eats for about 10 min and then sleeps until 9:30. We usually have some kind of morning outing of swimming (which Sadie loves), going to the gym (where Sadie sits quietly in her car seat and watches everything), or some other errand. Then it's lunch time and I lay Sadie in bed wide awake and she puts her self to sleep for a 3-4 hour nap. I don't know where this behavior came from but we'll keep it!

Sadie LOVES Merik. Whenever she hears his voice she looks all over and wiggles. He is so good to talk to her and play with her. It's adorable! Jaden, well that's another story. He loves to "give her a little kiss Mom" but that's about his whole attention span. Sadie gets a little tense when he rushes past.

She is getting pretty chunky and taller every day. She has great big blue blue eyes that don't miss a thing and a tiny little nose and mouth. Just like a doll! Her hair is wild. It grows every which way and has the cutest curl right in the middle of her forehead. It's brown but you can't miss the red undertones. If you make eye contact with her she will smile real big and start chatting away. The bad thing is she does not like the camera so it's hard to get a good smiling picture.

She gets more and more fun every day!

Yummy!

Merik and Jaden had a blast with my birthday cake. We only had 24 candles...yes that's 2 short and Merik thought that was pretty funny. Half way into the "Happy Birthday" song Jaden had had enough and started blowing out the candles only to discover they had used the trick candles. Another thing Merik thought was pretty funny. Then Jaden dove right in. Who knew he loved chocolate frosting so much. What a boring birthday it would have been without these cuties!

Anybody want some cake?!

What we've been up to...

We are slowly but surly adjusting to life with three kiddos. It helps that Sadie is the perfect baby!

Here are a few of our latest adventures. Getting ready to go swimming.
Apparently not Sadie's favorite thing to do but at leastMerik seems excited!

Jaden has a hard time falling asleep at nights and is often the first to wake in the morning. He is obviously not getting enough rest because it a common occurrence to find him zonked out at 7am after his morning cup of "jucie".

The boys and I love to play with Sadie!

When Jaden and Sadie are napping Merik dives into the candy and otter-pop reserves. He times it just right so he won't have to share.

Jaden has become quite the expert with technology. He figured out that I have the boys favorite websites saved in the favorites tab. He told me, "I just click on this star Mom and we can play pbskids.org". I had to delete the links because my 2 and 5 year old were becoming computer game junkies!

As some of you know Jaden has also learned how to call certain people on speed dial and chat. This wouldn't be such a big deal except for the fact that most of the names on my speed dial live in a time zone 2 hours behind of ours.

Also, this is where Sadie gets to spend a lot of her day. She is pretty content to sit in the kitchen and watch the crazieness going on all around her.

Do I look like my brother?

Sadie 2 months
and
Merik 3 months

Here's Jaden at 3 months too just for fun.

Blessing Day

Sadie Lee Porter was blessed at my parents house while we were in Arizona this summer.

Isn't her dress gorgeous! It was made by her Grandma Porter. I love the little booties!

It was so fun to have most of our family there to share this special time with us.
Even my grandparents got to be there.
Who's crazy kids are these anyway?!

Four generations!

She truly is our little angel. We are so happy to have her in our family!

Friends Forever

Our friends Josh and Juliana Smith and their boys McKay and Kaden came to visit on Sadie's blessing day. We miss our
San Francisco friends so much.
The visit wouldn't be complete without a tickle war right in the middle of everyone. Silly boys!

Happy Birthday Merik

He is officially 5 years old! Merik's birthday was Friday but the party was Saturday. Try explaining that one to a 5 year old. I think it's pretty clear what this boys likes. He got either Power Rangers or water guns from his parents, grandparents and friends!

Here are a few highlights of the weekend.

Friday we went swimming all morning with friends and again when Dad came home.
Merik's party was so much fun. We just had 4 friends which was perfect for this age.
First the Dino Rangers had an egg hunt and then hatched the baby dinosaurs.
Next was a Power Ranger training course which consisted of jumping through sprinklers, sliding in the pool, and shooting the monsters. Then they had to finish off the monsters with water balloons.
Here are me and Sadie enjoying the party!
Merik waited all year for the pinata. He wasn't very efficient gathering candy because he was to excited to eat everything. Jaden filled his bag with only suckers!
At Merik's request we had brownies and ice cream. Yum!
After opening presents they headed back out for more water fun.
These pictures were taken about two seconds apart.
Merik was priming the pump and Jaden was holding a mouth full of water...
Ready...aim...FIRE!

Thanks for a special day!
